Our Mission

Did you know that coffee is one of the most chemically sprayed crops in the world, second only to cotton? Despite being the third most consumed beverage worldwide after tea and water, the production of coffee often comes at a great cost to the environment and to the people involved in its cultivation.

Recognizing this issue, We have decided to prioritize organic farming methods and ethical sourcing models in this coffee roasting business. In particular, we are committed to ending the cycle of poverty that disproportionately affects women coffee farmers around the world. These women often face significant challenges in their male-dominated societies, with limited financial control or decision-making power.

To support this cause, we have partnered with a foundation that focuses on enhancing the lives of women in remote and rural coffee communities. With every purchase made, a percentage of the proceeds goes directly to the foundation, enabling the continuation and growth of this vital support program.

We believe that together, we can make a difference in the world through coffee. By prioritizing sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business practices, we can create a more equitable and just global coffee industry.

My Story

My name is Zaid, Owner and master roaster at Black Label Coffee Roasters Inc., a venture that took root in 2023. My abiding love for coffee began long ago, and after immersing myself in the industry for over six years, I've had the privilege of tasting and roasting beans from around the globe - and excelling at it. In that moment, my calling became unmistakable. So, I embarked on a journey of intensive study, which included enrolling in roasting classes, completing courses at the Coffee Association of Canada, and delving into a wealth of literature by coffee connoisseurs such as James Hoffmann, Anette Moldvaer, and Scott Rao. With this wealth of experience and knowledge, I felt compelled to act, to share my passion with the world through coffee.
